How to connect the drive chain

1. When connecting drive chain on the sprocket.
When conecting or disconnecting drive chain. It is convient to use sprocket teeth. Please carry out the following steps:
1.1 Wind the drive chain around one of the sprocket so that both ends of the drive chain are facing each other on the sprocket
1.2 Insert the connecting link in the two end link of the drive chain
1.3 Insert the connecting link plate of the connecting link and fasten the plate by using the clips / cotter pins or spring pins provided
1.4 When using a press fit connecting link or F-type (sime press-fit) connecting link, insert the connecting link plate by taping it with a hammer until it moves into position. Then fasten it by using clip/cotter pins provided
1.5 When using the sprocket teeth to connect the chain, take care not to damage the sprocket teeth, particularly when using cast iron sprocket
2. When conecting between shafts
If sprocket can not be used due to layout, follow the procedures below.
2.1 Wind the drive chain around the sprocket and pull the chain ends together by using a chain puller
2.2 Insert the connecting link in the two end links of the chain
2.3 Insert the connecting link plate of the connecting link and fasten the plate by using the clips / cotter pins or spring clips provided

Note: Clip and cotter pin
1. Clips are used for small size of drive chain (under 80) connecting link. When connecting drive chain the clips should insert securely into the slotof the pin on the connecting link after the connecting plate has been inserted on the pin. If the legs of the clip are spread too far, they won’t catch properly and will fall off during time of operation of the drive chain, causing accidents. Care should be taken when insert them. The clip is generally installed in opposite to the direction of travel for chain as shown

2. Cotter pin: cotter pins are heat treated for standard and heavy duty. The leg of cotter pins should be bent approx 60 degrees. Cotter pin should be re-used
